United Way’s Volunteer Center kicked of its annual Summer Youth Program on Thursday, May 13th at Flint RiverQuarium. Over 75 students attended the kickoff to learn about volunteer opportunities throughout Albany this summer. Volunteers were treated to an Etiquette Skit showing the ‘do’s and don’ts of volunteering’ put on by Sandra Love and Keisha Dixon of Girls, Incorporated. The Summer Youth Program gives students ages 13 to 19 an opportunity to volunteer their time and talents to local health and human service agencies during the summer months. The program began on June 1st and will wrap up on July 23rd.
