AGILIS — a support organization for Alcoholics Anonymous, Al-Anon and Narcotics Anonymous, provides substance abuse education for the community. (229) 853-3205

Albany ARC — promotes and advocates on behalf of persons with disabilities wherever they may be and to foster the development of programs on their behalf.  Its services are Case Management, Residential, Preschool Care, Employment, and Adult day care, Independent Living, TAPP and SOURCE.  (229) 888-6852

Albany Area Meals on Wheels — Sponsored by SOWEGA Council on Aging, Albany area residents of 14 Southwest Georgia counties over the age of 60 with physical or mental impairments receive a hot, home-delivered meal 5 days a week at noon. (229) 432-1124

American Red Cross — disaster relief organization that provides relief to victims of disasters and helps people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. Supplies a safe blood supply, teaches life saving skills such as CPR, first aid, HIV/AIDS education, and water safety and much more. (229) 436-4845

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Georgia — BBBS is a one on one mentoring organization serving youths 5-18. Volunteers help make an impact on the life of a child by spending one day a week being a friend. (886) 614-4215

Boys and Girls Club (Albany, Lee County) — provides a positive learning environment for children between the ages of 6-16.  It gives boys and girls the opportunity to become productive, contributing members of the community. (229) 439 -0196 Albany, (229) 436-7226 Lee County

Boy Scouts, Chehaw Council — scouting is “Ethics in Action” and is one of the few youth programs in America that continues to prepare today’s young people through its high ideals.

The Bridge — provides emergency shelters for confirmed cases of abused and neglected children.  Serves children from birth-17, these children are provided with shelter, clothing, food mental health assessments, counseling, education, advocacy and recreation. The children can stay for up to 90 days. (229) 431-1121

Consumer Credit Counseling — provides non-profit services, dedicated to delivering professional and confidential credit counseling, debt management and consumer credit education to all segments of the community, regardless of ability to pay. (229) 883-0909

Crisp County DFACS Prescription Medicine Program — helps individuals who have no other resources to obtain needed medications until they can find other resources to assist them. (229) 276-2349

Crisp/Dooley County Meals on Wheels — sponsored by Middle Flint Area Council on Aging, this program provides one hot, nutritious meal 5 days a week for homebound elderly in economic, social or medical need. (229) 273-1183

Easter Seals  Southern Georgia — provides services to children and adults with disabilities in a 39 county area. Programs include vocational evaluation; skills training and employment; respite care and family support services; residential and independent living services; the Pathways program for adults with traumatic brain injury and “Megan’s House”, the only children’s respite home south of Atlanta. Extended Day Program — the goals of this program are to provide participants with quality, well-supervised after school activities, which stimulate new interests, increase knowledge in the humanities and encourage creativity. (229) 431-1280

Faith Community Outreach Center — this program is aimed at encouraging and preventing those who are at risk from falling into negative situations.  Serving as a shelter for the homeless, providing substance abuse programs, personal development and hot meals during the day. (229) 436-0807

Food Bank of Southwest Georgia — Part of America’s Second Harvest, but governed by an autonomous board of directors composed of local individuals.  Mission is to eliminate hunger in a poverty ridden 20 county region of Georgia. (229) 883-5959

Girls, Inc (Albany, Terrell) — this organization serves girls ages 6-18 and helps to empower them for a responsible and confident adulthood, economic independence and personal fulfillment. (229) 435-1897 Albany, (229) 995-6451 Terrell

Girl Scouts of Historic Georgia — Provides Girl Scout Programs that meet the developmental, educational, emotional and social needs and interests of girls 5-17.  Provides positive, strong role models in a safe environment in which girls may interact and learn. (229) 432-9188

United Way 2-1-1 — an information and referral service of the United Way.  United Way 2-1-1(formerly known as helpline) provides a vital link connecting people in our community with the services they need such as: food, clothing, shelter, rent and utility assistance and counseling. Lee Co After School Program — sponsored by the Albany YMCA, this program gives children supervised after school activities and enrichment programs. (229) 759-9008

Liberty House — Liberty House provides a shelter for battered women and their children. It also provides crisis intervention to stabilize women and their families, legal advocacy, a 24 hour line and support groups. (229) 439-7094

Prevent Child Abuse, Crisp Co — this organization provides prevention programs for both parents and children, including First Steps, an abusive prevention program; parenting education; referrals to community services; and contacts to new parents. (229) 273-0600

RSVP — Retired Senior Volunteer Program, sponsored by SOWEGA Council on Aging, is about people helping people, volunteers sharing the skills of a lifetime.  RSVP sponsors the Ramp project, building ramps for the disabled. (229) 432-1131

St. Paul’s Learning Center, Crisp Co — provides educational, moral, social, emotional and physical growth for pre-school children in a daycare setting. (229) 273-7452

Salvation Army — Provides housing and meals while individuals seek employment, keeping families in tact by providing utilities, food, clothing and counseling. (229) 435-1428

USO — USO’s mission is to provide morale, welfare and recreational type services to uniformed personnel. It is chartered by Congress as a nonprofit charitable corporation and is endorsed by the President of the United States and Department of Defense.  The motto is “Home Away From Home.” (404) 761-8061
