President’s Message

Dear Friends,

This year has been one of many challenges and the face of need has changed considerably. The economic crisis has caused all of America, non-profit, for-profit, and the private sector to evaluate how we do business. Your United Way has stepped up to the challenge and has sharpened its systems and practices to continue to be cost-efficient.

Our local United Way has continued to transition with the United Way of America movement to “advance the common good” for all people through Education, Income, and Health. Your generous contribution of $1.2 million in the 2008 campaign does not go unnoticed and is appreciated during these trying times.

We are fiercely committed to rigorous evaluation of funding requests, a high standard of professionalism, and low administrative costs. Supporting United Way is a one-of-a- kind opportunity to connect with what truly matters and I hope for your continued support in our journey to transform lives in our community. United Way will continuously look for the most effective ways to help people gain access to educational, economic, and health-related opportunities.

Sincerely,
Dwayne Myles, MBA : President & Chief Executive Officer
